Kano, July 8, 2025 — In a grand gesture to mark his official resumption as General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Nigerian international football star Ahmed Musa has gifted brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs to all players and officials of the team.
The surprise announcement was made during a brief ceremony at the club’s headquarters on Monday, drawing widespread excitement from team members and club supporters alike.
Musa, who also serves as team captain, said the gesture was part of his personal commitment to motivating the squad and raising the club’s morale as the new season approaches.
“It’s a new era for Kano Pillars. I want the players and staff to feel valued and inspired,” Musa said, adding that the club’s legacy and future success were dear to his heart.
The former Super Eagles forward, widely admired for his philanthropy and deep ties to Kano State, was appointed General Manager of the club last month. His dual role as captain and executive is seen as a bold move aimed at restoring the club’s glory days in Nigerian football.
Several players expressed gratitude for the unprecedented gesture, describing it as a morale booster. “This is unbelievable. We are grateful to Ahmed Musa for his generosity and leadership,” one senior player said.
Kano Pillars, a four-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champion, has had mixed results in recent seasons but now looks set for a revitalized campaign under Musa’s watch.
Club officials, fans, and dignitaries present hailed the move, calling it a “historic moment” for Nigerian club football.
“Congratulations and God bless our GM and captain, Ahmed Musa,” one fan declared enthusiastically.
