Uyo, July 6, 2025 — Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has commended President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing them as bold and transformative measures that are beginning to yield results across the country, especially in the South-South region.
Speaking to Government House correspondents on Saturday upon his return from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Summit, Governor Eno praised the President for his support in driving development initiatives at the sub-national level.
“I have never hidden my admiration for the President. His reforms are significant, and they are helping to grow the economy. He has also supported us in the South-South to execute laudable projects,” the governor said at the Hilltop Mansion, Government House, Uyo.
According to Eno, Nigeria’s economy is on the path to recovery, and he expressed optimism that the country would begin to witness substantial dividends in the months ahead.
The governor also noted steady progress in Akwa Ibom’s economy, highlighting the state’s ongoing infrastructural projects and social programmes as evidence of effective governance.
“We are pursuing and executing our projects diligently. We just concluded a two-day project review meeting, and I can confidently say the ship of the state is perfectly on course,” he said.
Governor Eno’s remarks add to growing voices of support within the political establishment for the Tinubu administration’s economic policies, including subsidy reforms, exchange rate unification, and investment in infrastructure.
