Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Emir of Gusau, Dr. Ibrahim Bello, describing the late monarch as a revered traditional leader who championed peace, unity, and development throughout his reign.
In a condolence message to Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Governor Idris paid glowing tribute to the late Emir, whom he hailed as “a man of wisdom and peace,” noting that his counsel was instrumental in fostering stability across the state.
The statement, issued by Abdullahi Idris, Special Adviser to the Kebbi Governor on Communication and Strategy, said the Emir’s death comes at a time Zamfara State most needed his guidance to sustain unity and navigate the current security and social challenges.
Governor Idris also highlighted the late monarch’s long-standing contributions to public service, especially in the health sector during the era of the old Sokoto State. He said the Emir’s legacy would endure for generations.
“The late Emir was not only a custodian of culture and tradition, but also a nation builder whose efforts touched many lives,” the Governor said.
While praying for Allah’s mercy and eternal rest for the late royal father, Governor Idris urged the Gusau Emirate Council and the bereaved family to take solace in the Emir’s exemplary service to Allah and humanity.
“On behalf of the government and people of Kebbi State, I offer our heartfelt condolences and pray that Almighty Allah grants the Emir Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement concluded.
