It has been confirmed that a Former First Lady, the wife of Nigeria’s First Military Head of State, Mrs. Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi have died at the ripe age of 97 years. Her husband, General Johnson Aguyi-Ironsi became the Head of State after the bloody coup on January 15, 1966 and was later murdered after spending some months in office as leader of Nigeria.

The Late Mrs. Victoria Ironsi would have turned 98 years in few months’ time but decided to bade the world farewell after spending a fruitful nine decades on the earth.

Since the news of her demise broke out, a deluge of tribute have continued to pour in.
