In its bid to sanitize governance in Zamfara State, the no-nonsense government of Governor Matawalle has revoked the contract awarded to erstwhile Governor Adamu Aliero’s company while ordering Aliero to refund N22BN. The said state fund was allegedly received by Aliero’s company, Allied Trading Firm, as contract sum for  the connection of 75 towns and villages to the national grid in 2013. The Federal Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has ruled in favour of Governor Muhammad Matawalle. The Governor was dragged before it by one Alhaji Mohammed Takori, Gubernatorial candidate of APDA, a political Party in Zamfara State. Of the five man panel, four ruled in favor of Governor Matawalle. They determined that the judgement of the Supreme Court was valid and the case was filed behind time.
