President Bola Tinubu remains firm in his decision-making, guided solely by the national interest and not swayed by external influences, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said on Thursday.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit in Abuja, Idris emphasized that while Tinubu listens to various viewpoints, his final decisions are independently made and aimed at benefiting the country.
“You need to study the president very well. You can have your voice; you can say what you want to say; he will listen to you, but his decision is ultimately his own,” Idris told participants at the summit themed ‘Renewed Hope Agenda: The Journey So Far’.
The minister’s comments were contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Rabiu Ibrahim.
Highlighting the president’s leadership style, Idris described Tinubu as a bold and inclusive leader whose transformative decisions under the Renewed Hope Agenda have been designed to harness Nigeria’s full potential.
He noted that the administration has taken decisive steps to address inherited challenges, including the removal of fuel and foreign exchange subsidies, which he said were major drains on the economy.
“These reforms are already yielding positive results,” the minister said, citing progress in infrastructure development, social investments, and efficient resource management.
He pointed to landmark infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Kano-Kaduna Standard Gauge Railway as evidence of the administration’s commitment to national development and integration.
Idris also mentioned the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates initiative as a critical intervention to address housing deficits and create employment opportunities across the country.
