Governor Aminu Waziri TAMBUWAL was vindicated on Wednesday when the Sokoto State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal upheld his election as the Governor of that Northwestern Nigerian state.
In a unanimous judgment delivered in Abuja by a three-man panel, the tribunal threw out the petition of Ahmed Aliyu, the candidate of the APC at the March 9, 2019 poll.
The tribunal led by Justice Bawale Abdullahi held that there was no evidence by the petitioner and his party to prove their case.
Reports from Sokoto indicate that most residents are jubilaring this verdict which many considered to be a just and true reflection of what transpired at the March 2019 elections.
