A member of the House of Representatives, Okpolupm Etteh, has praised President Bola Tinubu for appointing Usoro Akpabio as the Managing Director of the newly created South-South Development Commission (SSDC).
Etteh, who represents Eket/Onna/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, described the nomination as a visionary move that reflects the president’s commitment to inclusive development.
In a statement issued by his media team on Friday in Uyo, the lawmaker expressed confidence in Akpabio’s capacity to lead the SSDC effectively, citing her vast experience in public service and passion for national growth.
“I sincerely commend President Tinubu for this visionary appointment. Miss Usoro Akpabio is a seasoned public servant whose dedication and competence will certainly drive the success of the SSDC,” Etteh stated.
While Akpabio’s appointment is still subject to Senate confirmation, Etteh called on the people of Akwa Ibom State and the entire South-South region to support her leadership, emphasizing the potential for transformative development under her stewardship.
