The Police Service Commission (PSC) has issued a strong warning to Police Inspectors due for promotion, cautioning them against offering bribes or financial inducements in connection with the upcoming Departmental Selection Board (DSB) interview.
In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, the Head of Press and Public Relations of the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, emphasized that the DSB interview is a prerequisite for promotion to the rank of unconfirmed Assistant Superintendent of Police.
The interviews are scheduled to take place on May 19 across the 17 Police Zonal Command Headquarters nationwide.
Ani disclosed that the PSC Chairman, Hashimu Argungu, has directed the deployment of commission staff to the various zones to oversee the interview process in collaboration with officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
Argungu further warned candidates against pooling money or making any form of payment to PSC or police officials involved in the promotion exercise.
“The PSC will not tolerate any form of financial inducement or compromise. Any attempt to corrupt the process will be dealt with decisively,” the statement added.
