The town of Wurno in Tafawa Balewa LGA of Bauchi State last Saturday rose in solemn solidarity with the Dallajis as they laid to rest their son, husband, father, and brother, Professor Ishaku Dallaji.

The erudite scholar who died recently after a brief illness was the elder brother of Engr. Noah Dallaji, philanthropist and President of the African Children’s Talent Discovery Foundation.

Dignitaries from all walks of life came to Wurno in droves not only to give a befitting farewell to the beloved scholar but also to show great solidarity to Engr Dallaji who has always been there for many.

Among the VIPs that graced the occasion were the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Dr. Bilyamin Othman and the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Suleiman.
In a speech and tribute at the event, Engr. Noah Dallaji while thanking all the dignitaries who came to sympathize with him, used the occasion to express the depth of his loss.
Addressing his late brother, he said: “Bidding you farewell is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do in my life. It’s still like a dream and I wish I’d just wake up and realize it was all a dream. If life could be bought, I sure would have gone all the length to buy you one. But God Almighty knows the reason He has called you home at this time of life. Continue to rest in the bosom of Christ. Adieu Dr. Ishaku Aliyu Dallaji.”

Amidst torrents of tears by his beloved family and friends, the late don was laid to rest, bringing to a close a most remarkable life of service and erudite scholarship.
