Lagos, April 29, 2025 — The Lagos State Police Command has arrested eight suspects linked to a spate of cult-related killings around Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) and its environs.
The arrests, made on Tuesday during an intelligence-driven operation, were confirmed in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
“Tactical operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspects involved in several cult-related killings within Yaba College of Technology and its environs,” the statement read.
The suspects include Adeyemo Abdulsamad (24), also known as Cloud; Afeez Enitan (28); Ayomide Daniel (30); Olamilekan Adeagbo (26), aka Skinny; Mayor Samson (28); Basit Ishola (20); Quadri Sikiru (26); and Mariam Salihu (23), the only female among them.
Police recovered a cache of weapons during the operation, including one Beretta pistol, four 9mm rounds of ammunition, one cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses.
Hundeyin stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the suspects’ full involvement in cult-related violence and criminal activities in the area.
The police reiterated their commitment to ensuring safety within Lagos tertiary institutions and urged the public to report suspicious activities promptly.
