Ido-Ekiti, April 29, 2025 — Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed gratitude to leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ekiti North Senatorial District for endorsing his candidacy for a second term in office.
The endorsement came during a special meeting of APC stakeholders held Tuesday evening in Ido-Ekiti, where party leaders also threw their support behind the deputy governor, Mrs. Monisade Afuye.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters and Inter-party Affairs, Chief Jide Awe, Governor Oyebanji described the endorsement as a reaffirmation of the people’s trust and a reminder of the responsibility to deliver good governance.
“This show of confidence is a humble reminder of our collective duty to serve the people. Our administration remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy and improving the lives of our citizens,” the governor said.
The APC leaders from Ekiti North cited key achievements of Oyebanji’s administration — including strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and human capital development — as the basis for their endorsement, praising his inclusive and people-oriented leadership style.
This latest backing follows earlier endorsements from APC leaders in the Southern and Central Senatorial Districts in January and February, respectively.
Prominent figures at the meeting included Senator Cyril Fasuyi (Ekiti North), House of Representatives members Akinlayo Kolawole and Akin Rotimi, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Adeoye Aribasoye, APC State Chairman Sola Elesin, and several current and former state and federal lawmakers.
