Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has declared Galatasaray “the best” after helping the club secure a record-extending 25th Turkish Süper Lig title with a 3-0 victory over Kayserispor on Sunday.
Osimhen, who has been in superb form, scored his seventh goal in six games to fire the Istanbul giants to the league crown with two matches remaining. The emphatic win put Galatasaray eight points clear of closest rivals Fenerbahçe, effectively ending Jose Mourinho’s side’s title hopes.
Reacting to the triumph, Osimhen celebrated on social media platform X, writing: “What more can I say? We are the Best. @GalatasaraySK. God is the Greatest!”
The victory capped off a sensational week for Galatasaray, who lifted the Turkish Cup just days earlier with Osimhen bagging a brace in the final against Trabzonspor. The domestic double is the club’s first since the 2018/19 season.
“We won one trophy. On Sunday, we will fight for the fifth star,” Osimhen had said after the midweek cup win—and he delivered, opening the scoring at Rams Park before veteran goalkeeper Fernando Muslera converted a late penalty to seal the win.
Galatasaray have now led the league table since matchday three, with Osimhen playing a crucial role in a dominant campaign.
