The people of Dauda-Ilo/Jubril Olabisi Streets in Ejigbo LCDA are today in celebration mood. This is due to the commencement of the asphalt laying and tarring of the road going through that section of the LCDA in Lagos State.
Cross Section of the Road Another Section of the Road
When our correspondent visited the area this afternoon, the joy of the people was very clear. This is because they obviously saw it as a promise truly fulfilled. It could be recalled that during his electioneering campaigns, the Chairman of the LCDA, Alhaji Monsuru Oloyede Obe promised to rehabilitate the road, given its strategic importance to the free movement of traffic in the LCDA. When the Chairman visited today to inspect the reconstruction work being handled by Rockdom Integrated Limited, the citizens trooped out to express their appreciation and also encourage Obe to see the road to its logical conclusion.
CHAIRMAN OBE, ENGR AJOSE AND CONSTITUENTS
In an interview with Chairman Obe, he maintained his readiness to ensure that the road is completed on time. He also promised to ensure that road barriers are erected to prevent heavy duty vehicles from plying the road for better maintenance. He enjoined residents to play their part in making sure that nothing is done to misuse the road. On the issue of speed breakers, the Chairman promised to look into this without prejudice to the overall welfare of the road.
OBE ADDRESSING THE COMMUNITY
The Managing Director of the construction company handling the road, Rockdom Integrated Limited, Prince Engineer Shola Ajá»á¹£e also promised to complete the road in good time and according to standards. He commended Chairman Obe for his commitment to prompt payment of contract sums.
One of the residents, Mr Sojonwo, while speaking on behalf of the community commended Chairman Obe for fulfilling his promises and for his leadership.
