Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that the mission of Nigeria’s leaders remains incomplete, urging continued commitment to the nation’s progress.
Obasanjo made the statement on Tuesday at the public presentation of Being True to Myself, the autobiography of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, held at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the former president said it was not yet time for Lamido and other elder statesmen to withdraw from national service. He stressed that their leadership journey is ongoing and that they still have a role to play in guiding Nigeria toward its full potential.
“We’re not done yet,” Obasanjo said. “It is our responsibility to ensure that Nigeria reaches the destination we desire.”
The event attracted dignitaries from across the political spectrum and served as a platform for reflecting on public service, national development, and the enduring role of experienced leaders in shaping the country’s future.
