Premier League side Nottingham Forest has confirmed the mutual termination of Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis’ contract after three seasons marked by limited impact and multiple loan spells.
Dennis joined Forest from Watford in August 2022, following a strong campaign with the Hornets. He managed two goals and three assists in his debut season at the City Ground but struggled to secure a regular role.
The 27-year-old later spent time on loan at İstanbul Başakşehir, Watford, and most recently at Blackburn Rovers, where he registered one assist in six appearances during the second half of the 2024/25 season.
In a statement released on Sunday, the club said:
“Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the club following the mutual termination of his contract. Dennis joined Forest from Watford in August 2022 and went on to make 25 appearances for the Reds. He spent time on loan at İstanbul Başakşehir and Watford during the 2023/24 season, before joining Blackburn Rovers for the second half of the 2024/25 campaign. We wish Emmanuel well for the future.”
Dennis began his professional career at Kwara Football Academy before moving to Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk in 2016. He later featured for Club Brugge, FC Cologne, and Watford before his Premier League return with Forest.
On the international stage, Dennis made his Super Eagles debut against Ukraine in 2019, replacing Samuel Chukwueze in the 82nd minute. He has scored once in eight appearances for Nigeria.
