The Nollywood community has been thrown into mourning as popular actor Ibrahim Chatta announced the death of his Godson on Saturday.
The 54-year-old actor broke the news in a post on his Instagram page, where he shared a photo of the deceased boy alongside an emotional tribute.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear Godson, champ,” Chatta wrote.

While he did not disclose the circumstances surrounding his son’s death, the post immediately drew an outpouring of condolences from colleagues, fans, and well-wishers across the film industry.
The tragedy comes just days after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola lost her only son, Ayomikun, who died earlier this week in Ibadan. The two incidents have deepened grief within Nollywood, with tributes flooding social media platforms.
Chatta, who has previously spoken about personal tragedies, revealed in June how he lost his first child, a daughter, years ago due to financial hardship and inadequate medical care. He recalled being unable to afford a coffin and burying her in a wooden Coca-Cola crate.
The actor, known for his emotional depth on screen, is now facing yet another devastating personal loss, leaving fans and industry colleagues rallying around him in support.
