Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, has urged inhabitants of border areas of Nigeria, Benin and Republic of Niger to live in peace and harmony with one another in the spirit of African brotherliness and friendship.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu gave the advice while interacting with farmers and Fulani normads of Bakin Ruwa and Sambe villages in Bagudo Local Government Area this Sunday.
The Governor was in the area to acquaint himself with this year’s cropping season expected to produce bumper harvest where he inspected maize, beans, millet and sorghum farmlands as well as places suitable for bees keeping.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was also glad to have seen a land envisaged to be rich in solid minerals deposit of gem stones.
The Governor traversed difficult terrain of several kilometres to reach the farmlands he inspected.
It is believed that the land is also capable of growing palm fruits and other crops as well as economic trees grown in the southern part of the country.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu gave the people an assurance of enjoying socio-economic amenities such as good drinking water, schools, health services, power and necessary infrastructural development soonest.
In separate remarks the village heads of Sambe, in Illo District, Mallam Usman Sambe and Dikko Aliyu appealed to the Governor to provide the communities with educational facilities, water, electricity, healthcare, agricultural input, access road and dams for human and animal usage.
They expressed appreciation for his inspection visit to the area which has been endowed with fertile land for agricultural purposes and cottage industries.
The village heads would want the government to construct befitting palaces for them as obtained across the border in neighbouring countries.
In line with his compassion and benevolence, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu offered financial support to farmers, Fulani men and women, traders as well as other females hawking shea-nut and groundnut along the way.
The Governor is desirous to enhancing their economic wellbeing and boosting production of cash crops for local consumption and export.
In the course of his visits Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was in company of Bagudo Local Government Chairman, Muhammadu Kaura Dan Hakimi Zagga, Member of House of Assembly, Muhammad Sama’ila Bagudo as well as a businessman and politician Alhaji Sahabi Lolo.
