The Lagos State Government has announced plans to promote its cultural and tourism potential at the forthcoming African Cultural Festival in Pennsylvania, United States.
The three-day event, themed “Africa to the World: Culture, Creativity and Collaboration”, will run from September 19 to 21, 2025, at the Forum Auditorium, Harrisburg, PA. Afrobeats star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, is billed to headline the concert “Rhythms of Africa”, performing his iconic hit African Queen.
A statement on Monday said Lagos will be represented by a delegation of creatives, entrepreneurs, and innovators, as part of efforts to showcase the state’s global cultural relevance.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Idris Aregbe, said the participation aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda, aimed at boosting tourism, creative industries, and global partnerships.
“This affords us the opportunity to tell our stories and secure a seat among global cultural hubs,” Aregbe noted.
Festival CEO, Wole Adeniyi, described the collaboration as timely, stressing that the event seeks to reconnect Africa with its diaspora while promoting cultural unity and economic transformation.
He added that for 2Baba, the performance will also celebrate his legendary status, following Billboard’s recent ranking of African Queen as the Greatest Afrobeats Song of All Time.
