The Lagos State chapter of the Labour Party has suspended its former chairman, Pastor Dayo Ekong, and another senior party member, Sam Okpala, over alleged gross misconduct and violations of the party’s constitution.
The announcement was made on Sunday in a statement jointly signed by the chairman and secretary of the state’s caretaker committee, Rotimi Odunaike and Dorcas Omorodion, respectively.
In addition to the suspensions, the party also dissolved all Local Government Ward Executive Committees across the state.
According to the statement, all members of the previous state executive committee have been suspended for a period of six months due to alleged anti-party activities.
The disciplinary action marks the latest internal shake-up within the party as it continues efforts to strengthen its structure and enforce adherence to its constitution.
