The Kaduna State Residents Identity Management Agency (KADRIMA) has launched a statewide sensitisation campaign to mobilise residents for ongoing registration and identity card enrollment.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. John Danfulani, led the advocacy tour to several chiefdoms and emirates in Southern Kaduna, where he met with traditional rulers and community leaders to emphasise the importance of the initiative.
Speaking during a visit to Kachia on Thursday, Danfulani explained that the exercise is designed to create a comprehensive database of all residents in Kaduna State. He noted that the data will enhance government planning, improve security, and facilitate access to social welfare and financial services.
“We are urging all residents of Kaduna, regardless of origin, to participate in this registration exercise. This identity card is for everyone living in the state,” he said.
Danfulani added that the identity card will double as a debit or credit card, granting holders access to key government services such as scholarships, subsidised healthcare, health insurance, and free education.
He dismissed concerns that the programme is politically driven or aimed at generating revenue, stating that its sole purpose is to improve governance and ensure inclusive development across the state.
