The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, graced the grand finale of the Moyosore Onigbongbo Youth Championship Cup, being part of the events to commemorate the 2025 International Youth Day. He celebrated the talents, unity, and competitive spirit of the participating teams.
In his address, Hon. Moyosore noted that the event was not merely a football competition but a platform to foster youth engagement, unity, and community pride. To appreciate and encourage the efforts of all involved, he announced generous rewards to the teams, coaches, and referees.
The winning team, Ward A (Onigbongbo), received a cash prize of ₦500,000, while the second-place team, Ward E (Oregun), was awarded ₦300,000. In addition, every player who participated in the tournament will receive ₦15,000 each. The coaches were rewarded with ₦100,000, while the referees received ₦100,000 in recognition of their role in ensuring fair play.
“This gesture is not just about the money, but about acknowledging the unity, passion, and commitment shown throughout the tournament. Our youth are the heartbeat of Onigbongbo, and investing in them is investing in our future,” Hon. Moyosore emphasized.
The thrilling final match drew massive support from the community, with cheers and excitement filling the air, and the spirit of the International Youth Day.
