Six years after IGWE EZEUDO of Awka-Etiti, HRM Dr. Joachim Okwudilichikwu OJUKWU, Akum1, Ezeudo1, (The Obi of Awka-Etiti Kingdom) joined his ancestors, the people of Awka Etiti and indeed all Anambrarians still recall with fond memories his peaceful and prosperous reign.
Before he went the ways of his ancestors, Igwe Ezeudo reigned with exemplary leadership, helping to transform the ancient kingdom to a world-renowned citadel of culture, modernity and progress.
His reign witnessed the transformation of many Awka Etiti indigenes to successful businessmen and women. Many great professionals in various calling also emerged during his epoch. Awka Etiti will never forget a reign many have termed the “Era of Transformation.”
As Awka Etiti people commemorates the remarkable transition of the charismatic monarch, encomiums have continued to pour in from around the world.
In a tribute on Friday, October 11, 2019, marking six years after the transition of the popular Ezeudo, the son of the late monarch, His Highness, Chuma Ojukwu Agujiugo, says:
“Today marks the 6th Blessed Memorial Anniversary of IGWE EZEUDO of Awka-Etiti, HRM Dr. Joachim Okwudilichikwu OJUKWU, Akum1, Ezeudo1, (The Obi of Awka-Etiti Kingdom in HEAVEN) in HEAVEN but I humbly, sincerely and most respectfully want to remind all that a KING does not die. A KING is an institution that translates into ETERNAL GLORY as an ANCESTOR. May the SOUL of my beloved Father whose destination is in HEAVEN through our LORD Jesus Christ, rest in perfect peace. Iseeeeeeee! Dad, I am crying now because I LOVE you deeply. Good morning, my Heartbeat Sweetheart Dad; until we meet in HEAVENLY PARADISE to part no more. For ever and ever… Amen!”
One of the notable mourners is the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie M. Obiano, Akpokuedike Ndigbo who in a message to the son of the IGWE, His Highness, Chuma Ojukwu Agujiugo, says:
“He is resting assured. He is not dead. Kings don’t die. They live in our hearts forever. “
Many other notable Anambrarians and sons and daughters of Awka Etiti have been calling to express fond memories of the great monarch.
Awka Etiti, the entire Anambra and Nigeria surely missed a king who notably stamped his footprints on the sand of time.
