
The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has commenced a mass housing scheme in Ibadan, Oyo state. The estate, situated at Ajoda New Town, Ibadan will comprise of well over 1,000 units of affordable housing.
The project is a PPP between FHA and 5 Estate Development Firms which include Woodston Engineering & Construction Ltd., Timik Engineering & Construction Ltd., Greenwood Ltd. and two others. Under this arrangement, the developers will build and sell the housing units in partnership with the FHA. According to experts, the estate promises to be the best deal for Nigerians who are interested in real estate in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The housing units which will range from 2-bedroom semi detached, 3- bedroom semi detached and 3 bedroom fully detached bungalows in the first phase with prices ranging from N6million to N10million is considered the cheapest in the country at the best quality.

According to the developers, more exquisite houses are being proposed for higher income earners, which will take effect in the second phase upon approval by the FHA.
On Tuesday September 8, The Managing Director of the FHA, Senator Gbenga Ashafa with some Executive Directors and staff of FHA was on a familiarization tour of the Ajoda New Town scheme. On ground to receive him was the MD of Woodston Engineering & Construction Ltd.; Dr. Mike Anjorin, Mr. Ige Ayeni of Greenwood among other developers. While fielding questions from Senator Ashafa on their project plan, Dr. Anjorin assured the FHA Managing Director of timely and quality delivery of world class housing to Nigerians in Ibadan.

Meanwhile the project has commenced in earnest after all due process and due diligence by FHA on the selected developers.
Checks affirm that Nigerians can indeed begin to approach the FHA and its developer-partners for a piece of this affordable but classy housing scheme at Ajoda New Town, Ibadan.

After the site visit at Ajoda, the FHA MD proceeded on a courtesy visit to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde during which the Governor was briefed on this and other businesses of the FHA in Oyo State.
