Ado Ekiti, July 29, 2025 — Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has expressed deep appreciation to the people of the state for their overwhelming support during a massive endorsement rally held in Ado Ekiti on Monday, pledging to continue delivering impactful development across the state.
The event, which attracted thousands of residents, political supporters, and stakeholders, was organised by the Tinubu/Oyebanji–Afuye Statewide Endorsement Committee to back both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji for second terms in office.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor described the turnout and public show of confidence as humbling and historic.
“It must be stated that I am most humbled by your vote of confidence, and we shall continue to work assiduously towards making Ekiti attain the heights that we will all be proud of,” Oyebanji stated.
He described the rally as “a watershed in the history of our dear state,” while thanking God for what he called a “hugely successful political gathering.”
Governor Oyebanji also acknowledged the contributions of several dignitaries and political leaders who supported the event, including Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele; former Ekiti Governors Niyi Adebayo, Segun Oni, and Ayodele Fayose; and APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru.
He gave special recognition to former deputy governors Surv. Abiodun Aluko and Prof. Modupe Adelabu, who served as co-chairpersons of the endorsement planning committee. He also appreciated current and former members of the National Assembly, the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, and members of the state legislature and executive council.
Oyebanji praised President Tinubu for his continued support for Ekiti, noting that federal economic policies had aided significant progress in the state’s development.
He further acknowledged over 300 associations and groups that had endorsed his administration over the past four months, promising that their trust would be repaid with more inclusive governance and accelerated infrastructure and economic growth.
“Our profound appreciation goes to everyone who stood with us, and we assure the people of Ekiti that we will not relent in our commitment to good governance and people-centered development,” he affirmed.
