Lagos, September 4, 2025 – Residents of Ikota Estate, Lagos, were thrown into shock and mourning on Wednesday, September 3, after a young woman, 26-year-old Deb’rah Porsche, was brutally murdered in her apartment by her ex-boyfriend, who disguised himself as a dispatch rider.
According to eyewitnesses and estate security personnel, the suspect, identified as Lintex Ogale, arrived at the estate on a motorcycle while dressed in dispatch rider gear. He claimed to have a package for Deborah. Security officers immediately informed her of the delivery, but the young woman reportedly told them she was not expecting any package and insisted they must have gotten the wrong apartment.
When security men turned him back, Ogale allegedly scaled the estate fence and forced his way into Deborah’s residence. Neighbours recounted hearing screams shortly after, as the suspect attacked her with a sharp object, stabbing her multiple times in what investigators have described as a crime of passion fueled by obsession and rage.
Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and, with the help of security men, restrained the suspect before handing him over to law enforcement. Deborah was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors confirmed she had succumbed to her injuries.
Police spokesperson for Lagos State Command confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect is in custody and an investigation is ongoing. “This was a tragic and premeditated attack. The suspect will face the full weight of the law,” the spokesperson said.
The chilling incident has reignited conversations about gender-based violence, stalking, and the dangers of toxic relationships, with many Lagosians expressing outrage on social media under the hashtag #JusticeForDeborah.
Meanwhile, residents of Ikota remain in shock, describing Deborah as a quiet, hardworking young woman “just minding her business” before her life was cut short.
