Lagos — The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) University in Kwara State is expected to commence academic operations in 2026, according to Rev. Esther Ajayi, Chairperson of the Cherubim and Seraphim Centenary Anniversary Steering Committee.
Ajayi, who is also the Founder of the Love of Christ Church in Lagos, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on the sidelines of the church’s centenary lecture held in Lagos on Monday. She said the university project, currently 80 percent complete, represents a landmark achievement in the church’s 100-year journey.
She explained that the institution would serve as a platform to shape the character of future leaders and help address the decline in moral values across society.
“With the decline in moral values, the university will serve as a buffer against amoral behaviours. It will instill in students the value orientation required to advance society,” Ajayi said.
According to her, the establishment of the university affirms the C&S Church’s commitment to human development, holiness, and service to humanity.
“The church is setting up institutions and structures to advance its bridge-building role in the world. A renewed C&S inspires the younger generation and the global community to rediscover their roots and engender true human service,” she added.
Ajayi further stressed that the university would not only produce professionals but also train bold minds equipped to spread the gospel across the world and counter social anomalies threatening humanity.
The centenary lecture, which formed part of activities marking the church’s 100th anniversary, was held to reflect on the mandate of the C&S and chart a path for the future.
