In a apparent move to shore up the personnel strength of the counterinsurgency frontier forces in the North Eastern State of BORNO, the state Governor, Kashim SHETTIMA has recruited 500 more local hunters.

In a brief ceremony recently in MAIDUGURI, Governor SHETTIMA, while commending the men for their patriotism, enjoined the recruits to engage the enemies with total commitment to the cause of freedom and peace.

The recruits later swore oaths of allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria conducted with both the Quran and the Bible. The recruits belong to both the Islamic and Christian faiths and were drawn from across the state.

The latest measure is in line with Shettima’s determination to address the recent escalation in the unpatriotic acts of the Boko Haram terrorists in that region.
