The Celica Church of Christ has called on Nigerians to embrace a spiritual revolution to address the country’s challenges, warning that planned protests may not provide a lasting solution and could lead to chaos and bloodshed if hijacked by miscreants.
In a statement, the church’s Spiritual Head, Reverend Dr. Adetunji Adeonigbagbe, emphasized that protests, if not properly managed, might degenerate into a breakdown of law and order and result in the destruction of property across the nation. He noted that Nigerians are seeking good policies, effective programs, and strong leadership to elevate the country to new heights, where citizens can sustain their livelihoods and access basic necessities.
Reverend Adeonigbagbe highlighted a missing spiritual link in Nigeria’s governance, urging the nation to reconnect with God. He proposed the formation of a spiritual council composed of true prophets unafraid to speak the truth to leaders. This council would review government policies and programs, seeking divine guidance before implementation. He suggested that similar councils be established at state and local government levels.
Citing a divine message received over the past decade, Reverend Adeonigbagbe spoke of a forthcoming spiritual revolution that would sweep away those hindering Nigeria’s progress unless they repent and govern with the fear of God. He drew a parallel to the biblical liberation of the Israelites from Egypt through a spiritual revolution, asserting that the same God is capable of liberating Nigeria from oppression and adversity.
Reverend Adeonigbagbe urged all Nigerians to pray for divine intervention and to advocate for government action on issues such as food security, safety, power, housing, transportation, job creation, cost of governance, accountability, and anti-corruption measures. He expressed confidence that Nigeria is a project of God, destined for divine intervention and control in due course.
