Lagos State government has ordered the reopening of churches, mosques from June 19. However, schools would remain closed till further notice.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made the declaraction on Thursday while briefing the public on COVID-19 measures in the state.
According to the Governor, mosques will reopen from June 19, while churches will follow suit as from June 21.
There is however a caveat: The governor insists that churches and mosques in the state should not accommodate more than 40 per cent of their capacity. The number of congregants is also limited to a maximum of 500 regardless of the size.
The Governor also ordered that Lagosians below 15 years and those who are 65 years and above must be barred from religious services in the state.
All congregants in churches and mosques must also wear face masks.
Schools, according to the Governor shall remain closed until further notice.
