A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ghali Umar Na’Abba, the second individual to hold this distinguished position in the current 4th Republic, has passed away in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Lagosian has been unable to gather comprehensive details regarding the circumstances surrounding Na’Abba’s demise.
Hailing from Kano State, the late Na’Abba was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives in 1999. His elevation to the role of Speaker occurred a few months after the House’s inauguration, following the resignation of the then-Speaker, Salisu Buhari, from the same Kano State, amid a certificate forgery scandal.
