Renowned as Àwòrò, Aliu was pronounced dead at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital at Aro Ekiti. Just about a month shy of his 81st birthday, (born November 11, 1939) Jimoh Aliu was also noted sculptor, playwright and director.
