Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has completed a move to Saudi Women’s League giants Al Hilal, signing a two-year contract after leaving US side Bay FC.
The 30-year-old striker underwent her medical on Monday night before finalising the transfer, which marks a new chapter in her illustrious career spanning Europe, Asia, and North America.
Oshoala joined Bay FC in February 2024 after a highly successful spell with FC Barcelona Femení, where she won multiple league and Champions League titles. During her time in the US, she made 25 league appearances last season—23 of them starts—scoring seven goals and providing one assist. Overall, she featured in 38 matches, netting eight times.
However, her influence at Bay FC diminished this season, with head coach Albertin Montoya noting challenges in adapting to the NWSL’s defensive demands.
Her transfer to Al Hilal, confirmed after an undisclosed fee agreement between both clubs, is expected to provide her with a fresh platform to reignite her form.
The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year has previously played for Liverpool, Arsenal, Dalian Quanjian, and Barcelona, becoming one of the most decorated African footballers of all time.
She was also part of the Super Falcons squad that lifted a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco this July.
Oshoala’s unveiling at Al Hilal took place on Tuesday, with the club hailing her as a marquee signing for women’s football in Saudi Arabia.
