The Governors of Ondo and Kaduna States respectively, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and Mallam El-Rufai have come out to clearly express their opposing views on the passage of the anti-open grazing laws in some Southern states.

According to the Kaduna State Governor, the anti-open grazing laws being signed by some of the southern governors is “unrealistic”.

Reacting to his Kaduna State counterpart, Governor Akeredolu in a statement issued by the state commissioner for information, Donald Ojogo, cautioned that statements as such should not be said of a said such a statement should not heard of a leader.

Recall that Governor Akeredolu, had on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 signed the anti-open grazing bill into law. This move according to the governor falls in line with the resolution of the southern governors that all states in the region should make a law prohibiting open grazing before September 1.
