Anambra State First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, has been honoured with the First Lady of the Year (Health-Care and Child Support) award at the 2025 Nigerian Humanitarian Awards and Magazine.
The award ceremony, held in Abuja on Friday night, followed an open nomination and nationwide public voting process that attracted thousands of responses from citizens and humanitarian observers across the country.
Organised by the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation, the recognition celebrates Dr Soludo’s leadership and impact through her flagship programme, “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo.” The initiative promotes community health awareness, maternal and child care, nutritional education, and provides support to underprivileged families across rural and urban communities in Anambra State.
In her acceptance speech, Dr Soludo expressed gratitude to the organisers and Nigerians who voted for her. She said,
“Last night in Abuja, I received the award as Nigeria’s First Lady of the Year (Health-Care and Child Support), courtesy of Humanitarian Awards, Magazine & Summit. What began over 19 years ago as a simple passion has now transformed into a massive crusade. Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo has come to stay.”
She dedicated the award to members of her Healthy Living Family and children across Anambra, adding that the recognition would serve as a call to even greater service.
“To all of you who come out each Saturday morning to work out with me, and to all the beautiful children in Anambra whose lives and futures have been reassured by what we do — this is for you. You are the pride of what we do.”
The award underscores her growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading advocates for community health and child welfare.
